Overall Goal



Course Objectives

In order to solve contemporary problems faced by Sub-Saharan African nations, fellows are encouraged to participate in learning courses that will be provided by several Japanese government-run university hospitals (including the University of Fukui and other universities) on the following themes: maternal health, neonatal intensive care, infection controls, trauma care and traumatology.


Course Contents

This program has four courses, and participants will choose one of them when he/she will apply (See application form). Courses are as follows.

•Maternal health course: general instructional seminars, bedside learning, and related pediatric knowledge
•Infection control: general lectures on modern medical bacteriology/virology, and an infection control taskforce of (targets including AIDS, malaria and TBc)
•Traumatology and trauma care (ICU): Orthopaedic trauma and related emergency intensive care, contemporary traumatology, surgical treatment, and modern surgical treatment-support technology (including endoscopic and navigation surgery)
