プロジェクト概要




背景


SEAMEO(the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization) is an inter-governmental organization established in 1965. At present, it consists of 11 countries and has 8 associate member countries. RECSAM(The Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics) is one of 19 regional centres established by SEAMEO. it specializes in science and mathematics education. RECSAM's goal is to enhance the quality of science and mathematics education in SEAMEO member countries. for the goal, RECSAM conducts training programs and activities for science and mathematics teachers and educators. RECSAM will be implementing its 9th five-year plan for the period starting from July 2010 to June 2015.
RECSAM joined Malaysian technical cooperation program in 2008 through third country training program with JICA as collaborative partner and the TCTP provided training courses to 88 teachers and educators.

The level of Mathematics and Science Education is African countries will be improved.


プロジェクト目標


Teachers and educators can conduct lessons with more minds-on activities based on ASEI-PDSI (Activity Student Centered experimental improvisation / Plan Do See Improve) Approach.


成果


1. The participants will be able to identify areas to be improved in lessons and make suggestions for improvement through observation of student learning behaviors and actions.
2. The participants will be able to design lesson plans for students to improve quality of learning.

Airfare for international flights for participants etc. (Approximately 50% of total budget necessary to conduct the training course)

Cost to conduct the training course including class rooms, accommodation, local transportation etc.
(Approximately 50% of total budget necessary to conduct the training course)

Since TCTP is cost share basis, budget of Malaysian govenment should be secured

Based on the evaluation on past TCTP, there is no organizational problem in RECSAM as the training institute.
